Representation Matters: Halle Bailey Goes Viral For Hugging Little Girl At Disney World Resort

The touching clip shows the young girl who's favorite princess is Ariel, Mila Rose, clinging to Halle.

Halle Bailey, Grammy award-nominated singer and new lead actress for the upcoming Disney The Little Mermaid film, is the subject of a viral March 27 video where she visited the Disney World Resort in Florida.

According to Because of Them We Can, Halle, H.E.R., and Marsai Martin went to the resort to celebrate 100 students enrolled in the Disney Dreamers Academy.

The actors spent the day in the park, and while they were there, Halle came across Mila Rose – a young girl whose favorite Disney princess is Ariel.

The video showed a touching moment between the two of them where Halle hugged her tightly and sang her name. A bystander on the recording could be heard saying, “She won’t let go.” Halle called Rose cute and continued to carry her around on the video. The Instagram caption pointed out how important the moment was for both of them; it read, “

Representation will always matter. We’re wishing one of the sweetest Disney princesses, Halle Bailey, a very happy birthday!”

The video was reposted on Twitter, where commenters talked about how important of a step it was to have a black woman play Ariel in the upcoming Little Mermaid film and sang

their praises for Halle Bailey’s kindness.
