“Dear Family and Friends, it is with a heavy heart we inform you of the passing of our beautiful Andrea Martin also known as ‘Annie,” the message read. “Andrea will always be remembered for her passion and dedication to her family and friends. The veteran hitmaker was responsible for numerous R&B hits like Angie Stone’s “Wish I Didn’t Miss You,” Monica’s “Before You Walk Out My Life,” Fantasia’s “Lose To Win,” and Toni Braxton’s “I Love Me Some Him,” among other jams.

Martin’s hits could be heard in every genre from rhythm and blues to pop.

A video on Instagram with the talented songwriter showed her detailing her start in the industry. She shared that she was a demo singer making $150 per song. One producer offered her $300 to create a melody and lyrics – that single was “Show Me Love” by Robin S. It went on to be commercially successful, but Martin didn’t get credit for the hit.

Martin’s family launched a GoFundMe in order to raise money for her children. The fundraiser has earned almost $2,200 of its $50,000 goal. Relatives are asking for privacy at this time.

No cause of death has been released.
