Ray Lewis Jr.’s Son, Ray Lewis III, Has Passed Away

Ray Lewis III, the son of NFL icon Ray Lewis Jr., died at the age of 28.

Rashaan, Lewis III’s younger brother, broke the awful news on June 15, TMZ reported.

“Really can’t believe I’m even typing this, but RIP big brother,” Rashaan posted on his Instagram stories. “A true angel. I pray your at peace now because ik [I know] how much you was rlly hurtin. I don’t and won’t ever have the words man cuz this pain right here …. I love you I love you I love you. Your niece gone miss you but she will hear about u over and over just watch over us all big bruh be our guardian I promise I’ll make you smile and proud.”

The reason of death for the young football star was not immediately determined. Lewis III was a standout running back for Lake Mary Prep in Florida his final year, carrying the ball 190 times for 1,898 yards and 20 touchdowns.

Lewis III began his college football career at Miami, Fla., for the Miami Hurricane as a freshman in 2013 before transferring to Coastal Carolina for the Chanticleers, and then Virginia Union for the Panthers, USA Today reported

Lewis III most recently played for the Champions Indoor Football League’s Wyoming Mustangs.

Lewis III was also interested in a career in music.

Father Lewis Jr., a proud parent, is best known for being a member of the Baltimore Ravens from 1996 until 2012. He retired as a two-time Super Bowl champion, Super Bowl 35 MVP, two-time defensive player of the year, and seven-time first-team All-Pro.

In 2018, he was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

The Ravens legend is a fervent Christian. Throughout his career, he has been open about his faith, and he frequently references scripture in interviews and on social media. Lewis Jr. feels that his faith has helped him overcome difficulties and achieve success both personally and professionally.
