Rapper Lil Yachty Calls Out DJ Akademiks On His Bulls**t, ‘Stop Drinking, Bro’

Rapper Lil Yachty put podcaster DJ Akademiks in his place after he claimed Playboi Carti led him to switch up his style. 

During a Twitch live stream, DJ Akademiks made wild accusations about the “Flex Up” rapper.

“Lil Yachty in my studio told me this is before he dropped ‘Poland’ and ‘Strike’ and all this other sh*t. N***a, he said he’s in the studio with Carti, and Carti made him change his entire style. Facts,” the podcaster claimed. 

DK Akademiks added, “Once I heard that, I was like, ‘Damn! Carti’s like that?!’ Sorry, I have nothing more to say. Carti’s that n***a.”

Lil Yachty quote-tweeted a response to DJ Akademiks’ claims, calling him out.

“@Akademiks, you are so insane. I didn’t tell you this at all. Stop drinking, bro. I said Tyler [The Creator] encouraged me to take that route. Wtf?”

DJ Akademiks hasn’t come out to respond or counter Lil Yachty’s claims that he was lying.

The rapper released his latest record, “Let’s Start Here,” early this year, a different direction from his other releases with a more emo, synth-filled twist.

Lil Yachty credited Tyler The Creator for pushing him to go in the direction he did with his album, “Let’s Start Here,” in an interview with Billboard.

“I would love to do a project with Tyler [The Creator],” Lil Yachty stated. “He’s the reason I made this album. He’s the one who told me to do it, just go for it. He’s so confident, and I have so much respect for him because he takes me seriously, and he always has.”
