Prior to R. Kelly’s upcoming sex trafficking trial, set to begin next month, the Daily Mail reported that prosecutors are seeking to add new evidence, which reportedly involves R. Kelly sexually abusing a teenage boy.

According to the Associated Press, the singer is accused of having sexual contact with an unnamed 17-year-old male that he met in December 2006 at a McDonald’s restaurant. dream hampton, executive producer of Surviving R. Kelly, told NPR in 2019 that the singer’s frequenting of McDonald’s was often used as an opportunity to pick up young girls, saying “He would cruise McDonald’s near high schools and have someone from his team go up to a girl, you know, get her number, and she didn’t have to be anything,”

“She didn’t have to have long hair or short hair, be light-skinned or dark-skinned, have a great body or a bad one. All she had to be was young,” the director-producer continued.

The Daily Mail reported that R. Kelly was also alleged to be involved in the early 2019 bribery of a Cook County clerk in Chicago, information that could play out in his upcoming sex trafficking trial, reportedly set to start on August 18.
