Nikole Hannah-Jones Triggers Megyn Kelly On Twitter

The two had a back-and-forth on the social media platform.

Nikole Hannah-Jones triggered former FOX News host Megyn Kelly on social media after Kelly denounced the 1619 Project on Twitter. Jones is the author of the 1619 Project, a New York Times piece that tells the truth about slavery and its impact on racism today.

The former FOX News host, who is known for her racist comments, tweeted that it was “great” that the U.S. Dept. of Education announced they would not require schools to adopt a race-related curriculum using resources like the 1619 Project to receive grants. Kelly mentioned the 1619 project by name as a negative, along with the usual right-wing rhetoric.

“This is great!” wrote Kelly. “The ppl pushed back against the feds rewarding schools that teach Kendi & the 1619 project and it worked! Remember: the loudest voices on Twitter (which is far-Left)/the news (which is “woke”) do not represent the majority of Americans. Your voice matters.”

The scholar replied to the tweet with some well-deserved shade.

“I guess it’s good you no longer pretend to be a journalist anymore. Be well.”

Jones’ reply definitely got Kelly’s panties in a bundle because she responded with her fangs out.

“Says the woman who quietly tried to cleanse her dishonest “reporting” without even having the spine to own her shameful errors,” wrote Kelly. “This is why scholars from the L and R have panned your work as anti-historical & dangerous. It belongs nowhere near K-12 education.”

“If only I’d done penetrating journalism like, Special Report: Santa is White,” retorted Jones.

“I see you’re not denying the charge. (Because you can’t.) No matter, we all know what you did,” wrote Kelly.

The 1619 Project caused historians to argue whether or not the Revolutionary War was fought to preserve slavery, and conservatives spread the narrative that the piece wasn’t factual. Kelly once declared on national television that both Jesus and Santa Claus were white.

Twitter sure enjoyed the ladies bickering on the platform and replied with their own brand of humor.

After Jones didn’t respond to Kelly’s latest insult, she moved on to bashing Naomi Osaka and Martina Navratilova.
