Nicki Minaj Is Suing The People Who Swatted Her

There are serious repercussions if an emergency services dispatcher is tricked into sending a police or emergency service response team to someone else's address.

An armed SWAT team arrived at Nicki Minaj’s Los Angeles home along with her husband, Kenneth Petty, and 2-year-old son, Papa Bear, in an attempt to swat her, a cruel joke and illegal harassment strategy.

According to TMZ, the incident occurred on Monday, June 5. It involved two false emergencies: the first, when authorities arrived at the Queens rapper’s home around 6 p.m. and claimed there had been child abuse there, and the second, when they did so at 3 a.m. and claimed her house was on fire.

Both were false, and according to TMZ, deputies labeled the prank “a waste of time and resources.”

There are serious repercussions if an emergency services dispatcher is tricked into sending a police or emergency service response team to someone else’s address.

A SWAT team anticipates a dangerous situation when they arrive at a place. If they feel threatened, they may use force and enter the house or place of business with their weapons drawn. Nicki Minaj or her family may suffer injuries or possibly pass away as a result of this.

Second, swatting can endanger the responding officers. Officers are working in a high-stress atmosphere when they arrive at a site where they believe there is a serious threat. They might make errors and exert too much pressure. The policemen may suffer injuries or maybe pass away as a result of this.

According to reports, Nicki Minaj is speaking with attorneys to identify the callers.

“Sources close to Nicki tell us she’s not letting this little episode slide,” TMZ reported. “We’re told she’s hired lawyers to make sure the people behind this swatting are exposed and held accountable — which could mean criminal charges down the road.”
