Nick Cannon’s Loyalty Lies With Wendy Williams

Cannon allegedly will not support Sherri Shepard's new daytime replacement show

Daytime TV viewers have lost a long-time goodie, and Nick Cannon says she cannot be replaced.

After 13 years, The Wendy Williams Show was recently canceled. The popular talk series’ finale episode aired on June 17. Some people are not here for the new transition. One of those people is Wild N’ Out creator Nick Cannon.

According to Page Six, Nick Cannon, 41, refused to support the launch of Sheperd’s new daytime TV show due to being “indebted and grateful to Wendy.”

The source said, “Nick Cannon would not endorse her out of allegiance to Wendy. He wasn’t cool with how they handled him and how they abruptly canceled his show and hustled everyone out of there and took their computers and s–t.”

Debmar-Mercury announced the show’s cancellation in February after Williams, 57, had been away all season to deal with health issues stemming from Graves’ disease and COVID-19.

In a statement, the company said, “this is … a bitter-sweet moment for us and our partners at Fox. We all have a great love and affinity for Wendy, who grew into a true icon during her 12 incredible seasons as the solo host of a live, daily talk show dishing on ‘Hot Topics’ and interviewing celebrities.”

The company announced Sherri Shepherd’s daytime talk series would debut with Fox Television Stations in its place.

“Since Wendy is still not available to host the show as she continues on her road to recovery, we believe it is best for our fans, stations, and advertising partners to start making this transition now. We hope to be able to work with Wendy again in the future and continue to wish her a speedy and full recovery.”

In March, Debmar-Mercury also canceled the talk show Nick Cannon, after six months.

It seems like the company is canceling things left and right. Let’s see how the Sherri show will go.
