Ne-Yo’s Ex, Monyetta Shaw, And Fiancé Announce Their Engagement With A Stunning Photo Shoot

We're happy for her!

According to Essence, Monyetta Shaw and her fiancé Heath Carter will be tying the knot soon. In celebration of them soon becoming husband and wife, the lovely pair had a stunning photo shoot at the Biltmore Ballrooms in Atlanta.

Shaw and Carter were shot by photographer Justin Christopher Jones in cream-colored outfits featuring the two looking deeply in love.

Shaw’s ex, singer Ne-Yo, celebrated her new relationship and commented on photos of the shoot shared by Shaw on her Instagram.

“FLY S–T HAPPY S–T,” he wrote on Instagram. “So happy for you guys!!!!!”

Shaw replied, “Thank you so much!!!”

Last year in an interview with Us Weekly Shaw mentioned that she knew from the early onset of their relationship that Carter was a keeper.

“Honestly, he was such a good dude and a good person,” she said at the time. “I knew, I want to say almost immediately [that he was The One].”

“He’s the CEO of his companies, and even still, he makes time for his kids,” she added. “I would literally see him rearrange his schedules, have huge deals on the table, and he’s like, ‘No, I have to go see my daughter, and I have to make sure this is done.’ That honestly, was one of the main things that made me be like, ‘Oh my gosh.’ Just the love that he had for his children, first and foremost.”

In 2012, R&B singer Ne-Yo dumped Shaw citing commitment issues, and a year later, he married his current wife, Crystal Renay. Shaw was devastated over the breakup but said now the two are committed to co-parenting. She and Renay are also close friends.  Although the separation was messy, the bride-to-be appears to have moved on.

Carter proposed to Shaw in the presence of family and friends last summer.
