The National R&B Hall of Fame recently announced their 2022 nominees. Among the star-studded list are artists Anita Baker, Al Green, New Edition, The Isley Brothers, Chaka Khan and more. Fans have the opportunity to vote on who they think should be inducted into next year’s Hall of Fame, with six to eight artists selected in February.
Nas, SWV, Bell Biv Devoe, Berry Gordy and Roberta Flack are also nominated for the honorary induction and many other talented musicians.
Starting in 2013, the National R&B Hall of Fame has hosted their annual induction ceremonies in various locations throughout the United States, with the previous two years being virtual. Over the past decade, the organization, founded by professional basketball star LaMont “ShowBoat” Robinson in 2010, has recognized Aretha Franklin, Sam Cooke, Gerald Levart and other notable artists for their impact on rhythm and blues.
According to their official website, The National R&B Hall of Fame is “committed to maintaining a fair non-discriminatory selection process of individuals nominated and selected to be inducted into the Hall of Fame,” adding that
“nominees are selected by a panel of industry leaders and are chosen for induction by an approved process of the Hall of Fame founders and leaders. We understand that there are many individuals that are well deserving of the honor and recognition, and we hear from our many fans on who we should induct.”Related Post: Tina Turner, Jay-Z And More To Be Inducted Into The Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame
