Murdered TikTok Star, Matima ‘Swavy’ Miller’s Family Snaps On Wendy Williams

Sometimes it’s okay to keep your mouth shut, Wendy.

After a segment of the Wendy Williams show was released on July 7 where she addressed

the death of TikTok star Matima “Swavy” Miller,  his family snapped back at the talk show host for what they believed to be insensitive comments about his tragic passing.

As part of her ‘Hot Topics’ segment, Williams addressed the death of the young star and said, “I have no idea who this is. Neither does Norman. Neither does one person in this building.”

She then continued to point out that he had a larger social media following than her and asked the audience to clap if they had ever heard of Swavy, saying, “So here he is, he’s 19, and he was murdered Monday morning.”

Hurt and shocked by the audacity that Williams had to speak of her son’s death, Swavy’s mother, Chanelle Clark, told CBS 3 Philly, “Y’all, like as a mother, Wendy Williams, how dare you? So disrespectful,” I used to watch you as a child and even though you have a gossip show and all that, you didn’t even know my son.”

Swavy’s brother, Rahkim Clark, also spoke his thoughts and shared how devastating the loss has been to his family.

“He was a star. He is a star. We always knew he was a star. He was bigger than life,” Rahkim said.

“With nearly 3 million followers on TikTok, social media users knew Swavy for his dance moves, skits and sense of style.”

“He was very outgoing, so courageous. He had no fear like he would go anywhere and just bust in rhythm,” the brother added.

“I’m mentally going through it because I seen it. I seen my son shot down in the street like that,” Chanelle Clark, Miller’s mom, said. “Y’all don’t know what I’m going through.”
