Missy Elliot Nominated As First Female Hip-Hop Artist For Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame

She deserves all the flowers.

Missy Elliott is among the 2023 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame nominees.

Elliott, in particular, is making history as the first female hip-hop artist to be nominated.

On the first day of Black History Month, Elliot shared the historic news with fans, urging them to vote.

She tweeted, “I’vecried my eyes out II’vealways dreamed big, but to be nominated for this is bigger than I dreamed & I am so Humbly Grateful to

@rockhall & all my fans who helped me get here to please vote vote.rockhall.com/en/.”Fans responded on social media, celebrating EElliot’siconic accolade.

Throughout her career, Elliott has pushed the boundaries of hip-hop, incorporating R&B, funk, and pop elements into her music. Her innovative music style has made her a trailblazer in the industry.
The other nominees for the 2023 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction include Cydni Lauper, Willie Nelson, and A Tribe Called Quest.
The top five artists, chosen by fans, will be inducted into the 2023 Hall of Fame. Lauper, George Michael, Nelson, Soundgarden and Iron Maiden are listed as the top five on the leaderboard.
