Mike Tyson Takes Down Gunman At Hollywood Comedy Show

The comedy show took place at a rooftop bar in Hollywood.

Former professional boxer Mike Tyson prevented what could have been a deadly shooting at a comedy club on Tuesday night.

According to TMZ Sports, Tyson was front row during a comedy show at a Hollywood rooftop bar when an unidentified man pulled a gun within 15 feet of the former heavyweight champion.

Video footage obtained from the outlet captured the 55-year-old with several of his friends at what appeared to be a small comedy show. Things escalated quickly after the man approached Tyson at his table.

The man disrupted the comedian’s set by attempting to chat with the Fort Greene native. While there was no sound in the video, witnesses confirmed that the man tried to challenge Tyson to a fight. Instead, Tyson remained calm and didn’t bother to entertain the patron. However, a man who was the host of the event told the man that he had to leave the establishment.

After exchanging words with the host, the man appeared angry and threatened to shoot him. Then, he pulled out the weapon and waved it in front of everyone in attendance, prompting them to take cover under the tables.

Luckily, the gunman never fired the weapon and immediately put it away. The man addressed the incident and pleaded with the boxer not to call the cops on him. As a result, Tyson listened to what the man had to say and remained silent. Moments later, Tyson got up from his chair and embraced him.

After the two hugged, the man reportedly left the club. Meanwhile, the audience members started heading out — not knowing if the man would return and start another confrontation with Tyson or the host. Finally, after some time, the former boxer left too.

LAPD confirmed with TMZ that they were never alerted about the incident at the club.
