Michelle Obama is taking her talents to television!
The former First Lady is producing and starring in a Netflix cooking show for children, alongside a pair of puppets in a series called “Waffles + Mochi.”
In “Waffles + Mochi,” Mrs. Obama plays a supermarket owner who helps the two puppets pursue their dream of becoming chefs.
“Waffles + Mochi” is a Higher Ground Productions project. The Obamas signed a deal with Netflix in 2018 to create their own production company. This is their first series for children.
Netflix describes the series as a “blast off on global ingredient missions, traveling to kitchens, restaurants, farms and homes all over the world, cooking up recipes with everyday ingredients alongside renowned chefs, home cooks, kids and celebrities.”
Mrs. Obama, too, is excited about the show. She writes, “I’m excited for families and children everywhere to join us on our adventures as we discover, cook, and eat delicious food from all over the world.”
The series makes its debut March 16 and will run for 10-episodes.
