Mena Massoud Deletes His Twitter Following ‘TLM’ Comment Backlash

Massoud threw shade at 'The Little Mermaid' and fans were quick to snap back at him.

Aladdin actor Mena Massoud has come under Twitter fire for some shady comments about The Little Mermaid’s box office performance. Massoud tweeted in a deleted post that Halle Bailey’s big film would definitely be getting a sequel but wouldn’t hit the “billion dollar mark” at the box office on May 13.

Massoud wrote

, “Our film was unique in that audiences went to watch it multiple times. It’s the only way we reached the billion-dollar mark with our opening. My guess is [The Little Mermaid] doesn’t cross the billion mark but will undoubtedly get a sequel.”

Massoud’s comments about Bailey’s film had fans of The

Little Mermaid responding, and they were clearly unhappy.

The Aladdin actor has since deleted his Twitter following all the backlash.
