Megan Thee Stallion Argued With Friend Moments Before Shooting, Witness Says

Since the shooting involving Megan Thee Stallion and Tory Lanez occurred more than a year ago, new reports have surfaced. According to TMZ, an independent witness told police they saw the rapper and her friend Kelsey arguing moments before the she was shot in the foot.

During Tuesday’s preliminary hearing, a detective testified, stating the independent witness, who was present when the shooting happened, claimed the gun’s muzzle flash went off closer to Kelsey than Lanez. Lanez’s attorney, Shawn Holley will likely use the new evidence to highlight the “Say It” rapper’s innocence.

Holley said that muzzle flash detail is “corroborated by the gunshot residue found on the other female’s hands.” She also tells us, “It was further established that Megan gave several inconsistent accounts of what happened that night and that she omitted key information to the police.”

He added, “On cross-examination, Detective Stogner admitted that the bullet fragments allegedly removed from Ms. Pete’s ankles cannot be located.”

After learning the new details, the Houston native took to social media in a Tweet, saying the argument between her and Kelsey was irrelevant.

“I’ve been shot, and the focus of some these headlines are dismissing that I was attacked with a weapon while I was unarmed and trying to paint it as a catfight between friends.”

While it is unclear what was said in the SUV between the “Body” rapper and her friend, a shooting happened while she was standing outside the vehicle. She said she stepped outside of the car because she did not want to argue anymore, TMZ reported.

Holley believes the 27-year-old’s initial statements to first responders, stating she had glass inside her foot instead of a bullet, is misleading. However, she told authorities it was glass because she was fearful that a black man could get shot by police in her presence.

The incident happened a month after George Floyd was murdered.

Still, Holley adds, “We look forward to the opportunity to cross-examine her at trial about the numerous inconsistencies in her story.”

As Sis2Sis previously reported, the detective also testified on Tuesday that the “Savage” rapper claimed the 29-year-old shouted, “Dance b***h, dance!” before shooting her in the foot and later apologized for doing something while drunk. However, he never specified what he had done.

Lanez was ordered back to court on January 13th.
