Maria Taylor Responds To Rachel Nichols Racist Rant Against Her

Taylor took the high road and kept it classy.

Maria Taylor has indirectly addressed her Becky-esque co-worker Rachel Nichols being caught on tape with her name in her mouth. Nichols went on a frankly racist rant about Taylor’s career opportunities.

Nichols went full Becky when an event she was expecting to host, the NBA Finals, was assigned to Taylor instead. Soon after she was exposed for her July 2020 comments, she did

what everybody caught making racist statements does and apologized.

Taylor understandably remained silent, although Nichols called and texted her to express her regret before she did so from the comfort of her show, The Jump.

But, she finally spoke out through an indirect yet telling Twitter post.

“During the dark times, I always remember that I am in this position to open doors and light the path that others walk down. I’ve taken some punches, but that just means I’m still in the fight. Remember to lift as you climb and always KEEP RISING,” Taylor posted.

She certainly took the high road in response to Rachel Nichols’ very plebian rant against her. As of late, that is all that Taylor, who is in the middle of contract negotiations with ESPN, has said about the matter.

For all of her jealousy, Nichols received the stupid prize she played for– demotion. She will no longer be ESPN’s sideline reporter, reported Deadline. The best part about her demotion is that she is being replaced by Malika Andrews, another Black woman.

The cherry on top of this karmic win is– Taylor also received a $2 million raise from ESPN. The charismatic sports reporter will earn a cool $3 million for her work.

Maybe the next time she wants to dog whistle, she’ll make sure her company computer’s webcam is off.

Look at God!
