‘Love & Hip Hop’ Star Apple Watts’ Sister Provides Update Following Car Crash

"My sister is up and alert she understands and follows commands right now," Dominique Flournoy said.

Love & Hip Hop star Apple Watts’ sister took to social media and provided fans with an update on the reality star following a car crash that left her hospitalized since March.

Dominique Flournoy posted the update to her Instagram page on June 7, saying that Watts was alert and learning to speak on her own through therapy.

“My sister is up and alert she understands and follows commands right now, she is in speech therapy so that her trachea can be removed. Therapy helps with speech and swallowing,” she explained. “She is also in physical therapy. She’s been trying to balance herself by sitting on the edge of the bed with her feet on the floor it’s a process.”

Flournoy said she and her family are waiting for the 36-year-old to be transferred back to California.

Watts, an exotic dancer, video vixen, and rapper, was reportedly traveling to Las Vegas on I-15 in Bakersfield, Calif. when her black Mercedes Benz collided with a Ford F-250 pickup truck on the highway, Sis2Sis reported

. The California native’s car flipped several times before bursting into flames.

According to a report from the California highway patrol, one of the passengers in the Ford truck rescued Watts from the burning car. She was later airlifted to Nevada Hospital. At the time, Watts’ sister confirmed that she suffered life-threatening injuries, including a fractured skull, shattered arm, and broken spine.

A GoFundMe was created to ease the financial burden during the mother of three’s recovery. The “funds collected will help with medical and rehabilitation costs, as well as support for her children during her healing process,” the website read.

Since then, over $12,000 has been donated, with $35,000 as the initial goal.

We are praying that Watts makes a full recovery.
