‘Look, Let Me Tell You Som’n’: Black Texas Reporter Goes Viral

Ya'll gonna listen to the Black mama voice on today.

Tashara Parker, a Black news reporter for WFAA in Texas, is going viral for keeping it real while giving her weather report.

Tashara Parker is an anchor and reporter at WFAA News 8 in Dallas, Texas, covering traffic, breaking news and inspirational stories. Coined as a “community-focused storyteller,” Parker is known for bringing vibrancy and authenticity to capture her stories.

In October 2020, Tashara sparked a global conversation surrounding natural hair discrimination following backlash for a natural bun hairstyle she wore on-air. She launched her “Bun Ministry” movement to create a  space to celebrate, educate and empower individuals on natural hair.

Following the recent snowstorms battering the East Coast and some parts of the South, the Texas reporter got real with her viewers to caution them about navigating the icy conditions.

“Look, let me tell you something,” Parker told viewers during her weather report. “If you don’t have good tires this morning, you do not wanna be out there this morning. I don’t want you out there, period. But if your tires aren’t good, you are going to run into some not-so-good situations.”
