On a February 9 Instagram story, Kodak Black announced that he’d attend Arizona State University. Kodak revealed that he was a student now in the story post but didn’t tell what program he would be in yet, but his fans were incredibly supportive of the next step in his academic journey.
Kodak wrote in the post, “Arizona been one of my states. Fun fact: I’m really enrolled in ASU college after getting my GED in jail. I’m jus[t] in love wit[h] applying myself although money so long I can teach the school something.”
“Anyways, yea, it’s lit this week ‘AZ’ Super Bowl week. I’m in my mood. I’m home in my comfort zone, real comfy.”
His supporters sang his praise on Twitter following the announcement.
Kodak Black previously earned his GED back in 2018 while he was in jail for probation violations. He also gushed over that accomplishment and admitted even back then that he was immediately ready to seek more education.
“I just received my high school diploma today, and although it is a big accomplishment for me– I am yearning for more,” he reported five years ago. He gave a special shout-out to two of his teachers, who kept him on the right track during the process. “I appreciate my teachers, Mr. Williams and Mr. Ward, for those times when I would get frustrated you worked diligently to make sure I had the right materials and was ready for this big day.”
