Kim Kardashian Files To Become Legally Single Again, Wants To Restore Maiden Name

Kim Kardashian West files to become legally single during her pending divorce from Kanye West, TMZ reported. 

On Friday, the KUWTK star, 41, submitted court documents, asking a judge to separate issues involving child custody and property from her marital status. She also requested that her maiden name be restored.

Kardashian West and West, 44, share four children, North, 8, Saint, 6, Chicago, 3½, and Psalm, 2½. After nearly seven years of marriage, the business mogul filed for divorce from the rapper in February.

 The new court filings surfaced as West made several public pleas to mend his marriage with Kardashian West. According to People magazine, the latest request came on Thursday when he dedicated

his song “Runaway” to his ex while performing at the Free Larry Hoover concert at the Los Angeles Coliseum.

After singing the lyrics, “I need you to run right back to me, baby,” he added, “more specifically, Kimberly.”

The latest development was in a series of statements about West wanting to reunite his family. 

A source close to Kardashian West told People magazine that she has apparently “has moved on,” but “she knows it’s difficult for Kanye to deal with.”

The insider continued, “She isn’t surprised that he pleads in public for her to run back to him. She is just trying to be respectful about it.” 

After Thursday’s concert, an additional source told the outlet that Kardashian West “knows where Kanye’s head is” but “ignores it.” 

Despite the ongoing divorce, West has made several statements saying Kardashian West is “still” his wife.

While appearing on the Drink Champs podcast in early November, the musician said, ” ’cause she’s still my wife, ain’t no paperwork,” and said the two were not divorced, People magazine reported.

“And I ain’t never even seen the papers, we’re not even divorced,” he said, adding, “That ain’t no joke to me. My kids want their parents to stay together. I want … us to be together.”

Kardashian West attended Thursday’s concert with her two eldest kids, North and Saint, and her sister Kendall Jenner and mom Kris Jenner. An insider said North “is especially a fan of her dad’s music.” 

“Kim will always bring the kids to events that are important to Kanye,” the source added. “Co-parenting and making sure her kids are happy will always be her priority.”

While the divorce is pending, Kardashian West has been dating Saturday Night Live comedian Pete Davidson. In October, the couple started seeing each other ever since and spotted 

spending time together on multiple occasions.

“He’s exactly what Kim needed after her divorce — someone to make her laugh and just have a fun time with,” a source previously told People magazine of Davidson, 28. “The end of her marriage was a very dark time for her, and Pete has been the best antidote.”
