Kerrion Franklin, Son of Gospel Star Kirk Franklin, Held Without Bail In Los Angeles Jail

The son of gospel superstar Kirk Franklin, Kerrion, was detained in California by police and was held without bail in a Los Angeles County Jail.

Kerrion Franklin, 33, was arrested early Sunday morning by officers from the Beverly Hills Police Department (BHPD). According to court records obtained exclusively by Sis2Sis, Kerrion was booked shortly before 10:30 am the same day.

Charges on the arrest record in California are listed as misdemeanors, but bail for Kerrion was denied. In an interview from a holding facility in Beverly Hills, the Bad Boys reality star spoke with Larry Reid about the arrest in an almost 14-minute phone interview from lockup. Reid revealed that he and gospel John P. Kee would help the troubled man, and they still had to determine what exactly he needed.

The vlogger questioned the 33-year-old man about the specifics of the arrest.

Kerrion explained in the video that he was up early that morning driving to replace a faulty tail light on his vehicle when he stopped.

“I expressed to them (referring to Beverly Hills cops) that I was fixing it that morning, and I was headed to another Auto Zone. I had already been working on it, so I had been up early because I can’t drive at nighttime.”

He then disclosed that police allegedly confiscated his phone and stopped the video as he recorded the interaction. The Bad Boys star revealed that BHPD was “trying to slap two other charges on him just because” and that he never resisted arrest and a firearm found in his car had been planted by cops.

Throughout the video, Kerrion maintained that he hadn’t done anything wrong. The two men also discussed the alleged warrants in Texas, which reportedly stemmed from a missing woman’s case and Kerrion’s alleged involvement. The car he was driving allegedly belonged to the victim.

The reality star denied his role in the incident and claimed that the woman who sold him the car was alive when he purchased it and that the woman’s boyfriend was present at the sale. Kerrion said he bought the “over a year ago.”

Although it has been reported that Kerrion is being charged for resisting arrest, it’s not stated on court documents. He was denied a $15,000 bond due to the outstanding warrants in Texas- not the misdemeanor charges in California.

He is scheduled to appear at the Los Angeles Municipal Court later this morning. Kerrion will likely be extradited to Texas.

Kerrion’s struggles have been very public. In September, he took to social media and accused his mother of abusing him.

“My mama done [sic] already assaulted me. They [sic] trying to take me to some hospital. This crazy,” he said to his followers.

He argued with his mother and grandmother, packed his things, and went to his grandfather’s house. Kerrion’s relationship with his father, Kirk, has also been strained.
