According to the New York Post, there’s been drama between Princess Kate Middleton and her sister-in-law Meghan Markle after reports suggested that the princess explicitly admitted that she wouldn’t be having Markle come to King Charles’ anticipated upcoming coronation. Notorious royal biographer Tom Bower told GB News on April 12 that Princess Middleton said she wouldn’t have Markle at the May 6 event “under any circumstances” despite believing that Markle would have wanted to come to the coronation.
Bower said, “We must all be grateful that Kate, in the end, I think, prevented Meghan from coming and said she ‘wouldn’t have her there under any circumstances. And if she [Markle] did come, she’d have to sit at the back.” He continued, “I do think that for the royal family, Harry’s presence is constitutionally important. God forbid, the Cambridges all died. We’d have King Harry on the throne after Charles, so he’s got to be there.”
During his piece, Bower explained the importance of specific optics at such significant events as King Charles’ coronation. He told the reporters, “If he let Harry come on the balcony, he’d have to have Prince Andrew on the balcony and to have two renegade princes in front of the public like that would be a very bad start to King Charles’ reign.”
Reports from Buckingham Palace confirmed Prince Harry would be going to the coronation by himself. At the same time, Markle will remain in California with their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet in California. The palace reported, “Buckingham Palace is pleased to confirm that The Duke of Sussex [Harry] will attend the Coronation Service at Westminster Abbey on 6th May. The Duchess of Sussex [Meghan Markly] will remain in California with Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.”
