Kandi Burruss Says Xscape Would Beat Destiny’s Child In ‘Verzuz’ Battle, Twitter Users React

Kandi Burruss, a reality television star and Xscape member, appeared on Andy Cohen’s Watch What Happens Live and made bold statements regarding a Verzuz matchup between Destiny’s Child and the ’90s R&B group.

In the episode, Burruss sat alongside rap legend Lil’ Jon as Cohen asked the music veterans to play a game of “Who Do You Ver-Suspect?” Then, the executive producer presented them with hypothetical mashups between artists, including Jay-Z and Kanye West, Patti LaBelle and Diana Ross, and Megan Thee Stallion and Cardi B.

The 53-year-old asked the guests who would win a Verzuz battle between Destiny’s Child and Xscape.

“Oh, really?! We the OGs,” Burruss quickly exclaimed.

Lil’ Jon, an Atlanta native, also agreed with the singer, chanting “Xscape” in the background.

After the clip went viral, Twitter users shared their opinions on the mashup, ultimately disagreeing with the Burruss and the “Get Low” rapper.

One user said, “In her mind…I guess. Collectively and individually, Destiny’s Child would CLEAR Xscape. The only thing they can’t compete with is “legsssss and hipssss & bodyyyy,” with multiple laughing emojis.

“DC has 19 singles. Xscape has ten singles. But Xscape’s sophomore album alone is hit after hit (not the ones that charted). IJS,” another user said.

“DC got ‘Cater to U,’ ‘Lose my breath,’ ‘Bills Bills Bills,’ ‘Say my Name,’ ‘Apple Pie La Mode,’ ‘If,’ ‘Girl,’ ‘Soldier,’ ‘Temptation,’ ‘Jumpin Jumpin,’ ‘BOOTYLICIOUS,’ ‘DANGEROUSLY IN LOVE,’ ‘Brown eyes,’ ‘BUG A BOO,’ man look,” a third user said.

While some disagreed with Burruss, others pointed out that Destiny’s Child would not be successful without the 46-year-old penning multiple top-charting hits for the group.

“What y’all fail to realize is Kandi Burruss Wrote songs FOR Destiny’s Child. Doesn’t Verzuz allow people who have writing credits to use songs they wrote? She very well might be correct in this tbh,” one user said.

Another user said, Without Kandi, DC wouldn’t have the legacy that it does today; think on THAT.”
