Judge Greg Mathis And His Family Set To Make Reality TV Debut

"When the robe comes off, I'm just another sucker," he said.

Emmy Award-winning TV personality and former Michigan 36th District Court Judge Greg Mathis, and his family, are set to make their reality TV debut.

Their show, titled Mathis Family Matters, is scheduled to air on E! networks with back-to-back episodes starting Jun. 19. It would reportedly follow the lives of Judge Mathis and his wife, Linda Mathis, as well as their four adult children: Amir Mathis (31), Greg Mathis, Jr. (33), Camara Mathis Webb (34), and Jade Mathis (36).

In the docu-series, the family will be seen balancing their personal life, fame, and each member’s career.

“You know me, Judge Mathis, Emmy Award-winning television personality,” Greg said in the Mathis Family Matters trailer released on Apr. 25. “When the robe comes off, I’m just another sucker.

His wife added that all four of their kids lived in the same city for the first time in 15 years as they all moved to L.A. It was also previously reported that Greg purchased a home in Bel-Air for $4 million in 2018.

“For the first time in 15 years, the kids are all back in the same city,” Linda said.

She and her husband’s adorable grandchildren, Nora and Zara, are also set to appear on the show.

“My family, what can I say?” Greg lovingly said in its trailer.

He revealed that Amir pitched and secured the reality show after Hollywood producers tried to get his dad to show his personal life on TV for over a decade.

The Detroit native’s first show, “Judge Mathis,” debuted in 1998 and became one of the longest-running court series in television history. He was previously appointed as the youngest Superior Court Judge of Michigan’s 36th District Court in 1995.

In his 2002 biography, Inner City Miracle, Greg revealed that he was once part of Detroit’s Errol Flynn’s gang and served time in jail. However, he beat the odds and earned a bachelor’s degree in public administration from Eastern Michigan University in 1982 and a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Detroit Law School in 1987.

The 62-year-old has also been a lifetime member of the NAACP.
