Jennifer Hudson Pitching Daytime Talk Show With Warner Bros

She will supposedly use the 'Ellen' team after that show ends.

Jennifer Hudson is believed to be planning her own talk show that will use the team from The Ellen DeGeneres Show after it wraps filming.

Hudson was picked as the new Warner Bros. talk show host after the studio spoke to “around 30 people,” according to the report.

Variety reports that Hudson has already shot a test show with Ellen executive producers Andy Lassner and Mary Connelly serving as the showrunners. The test show was even shown on Ellen‘s stage.

“It’s understood that Warner Bros. did a deep dive to identify a marquee star to fill the ‘Ellen’ void, and after talking to around 30 people, it was clear Hudson was interested and the obvious choice,” Variety added. “The prolific star already has experience in the unscripted space beyond ‘Idol’: She served as a coach on both the U.S. and U.K. versions of ‘The Voice,’ which relies a great deal on personality.”

It’s being reported that Jennifer‘s talk show is an “entirely new series” and set to be TV’s new flagship daytime talk show once Ellen ends.

The multiple award-winning actor, singer, producer and all-around artist Hudson is known for her Oscar-winning role in the film Dreamgirls and, more recently, her role as Aretha Franklin in the recent hit movie Respect. She also starred as a contestant on American Idol and recently won a Daytime Emmy award earlier this year for Oculus Quest’s Baba Yaga

, which she executive produced.

If Hudson gets her show, she will be the second Idol and The Voice alum to host daytime TV. Her former colleague, Kelly Clarkson, also hosts the popular show The Kelly Clarkson Show, which currently airs before Ellen.

We hope to see Hudson as the next queen of daytime TV.
