Jenifer Lewis Receives Star On Hollywood Walk Of Fame, Thanks Fans For Support

"I am beyond grateful," the legendary actress said.

Legendary award-winning actress Jennifer Lewis finally received her star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame and thanked her fans for their support.

According to reports, Lewis received her star during a ceremony honoring her legacy at Hollywood Boulevard in Los Angeles, Calif., on July 15. The special event was hosted by Hollywood Chamber of Commerce Chairman Lupita Sanchez Cornejo with two guest speakers: legendary award-winning dancer and actress Debbie Allen and famed composer Marc Shaiman. Grammy Award-winning R&B veteran and actress Brandy, SNL alum Vanessa Bayer, and actress and comedian Roz Ryan also joined the festivities.

On July 18, Lewis took to Instagram to express her excitement and to shout out her fans for their support throughout her illustrious career. The IG post included a video montage of her ceremony and clips of her waving to adoring fans and doing her famous kick while Beyonce’s cover of the hit 1981 song, “Before I Let Go” by Maze, played in the background.

“Still on Cloud 9! Little Jenny from Kinloch, Mo. received her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame! [star eyes emoji] What an honor!” the self-proclaimed “Mother Of Black Hollywood” wrote. “Thank you for all the support over the years. I am BEYOND grateful. [heart emojis] Special thanks to @entermissthang.”

She jokingly told TMZ that she planned to sleep next to her star, which is right next to late actress Katharine Hepburn’s.

“How are you gonna protect it?” a TMZ reporter initially asked her.

“Oh I’ll be sleeping here every night. Oh yes honey, I’ll be driving by telling people, ‘Ah, ah! Go around!” the Missouri native responded with a laugh.

She added that she “got the biggest award,” being that each star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame is embedded into the sidewalk on Hollywood Boulevard.

“I got the biggest award. This one ain’t going nowhere. Star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame, I’m so happy!”

After her ceremony, Lewis stopped to sign autographs and took a moment to urge fans to vote.

“Vote! Don’t f**k up! They are taking away your rights away as you sleep. Them motherf*****s don’t care about you, you understand me?” she demanded. “And baby, they are coming…Get your a** on that internet and register to vote. They’re gonna f**k y’all up, y’all hear me? And call 20 f*****g people. Do you understand? Are you listening to me? Don’t let me have lived my life in vain.”

Then, as she waved goodbye, the group of attentive fans shouted “We love you!”
