Janet Jackson Says She’d Date Alicia Keys And The ‘Fallin’ Singer Responds

Singer Alicia Keys responded to the news Janet Jackson would date her. The “All For You” singer was once asked if she were to date a woman, who it be, and she replied that she’d date Keys.

The interview recently resurfaced after Jackson’s documentary, Janet, aired

on Lifetime and A&E for two nights beginning on Jan. 28.

In an interview in 2008 with E! Online, the “Control” singer was asked if she was a lesbian who she would like to date. Jackson replied that she’d date Alicia Keys.

“I think I would pick Alicia Keys,” replied Jackson. “I think she’s wonderful.”

Keys posted a clip from the article on her Instagram page with her response.

“I always knew I was BAE ,” wrote Keys. “But when @janetjackson says it ????,. Make sure you watch OUR Sis, THE ICON’s Doc ????? . #janetjacksondoc #janetjackson.”

Celebrities agreed on both singers’ beauty and noted Keys was a great choice. Openly gay singer Brandi Carlile commented on the post and co-signed the statements.

“Ok. Props for life,” she wrote. “The lesbians now bow down to you.”

Ariana DeBose wrote that both women were gorgeous.

“Well, hot dayumn!!!!!!! …. Where is the lie? Gorgeous gorgeous women. Yes.”

Elyse Fox commented on OG girl crushes.

“The og girl crush wym ?? .”

Keys admitted to one fan that she felt validated by Jackson’s statement.

“I kinda did feel some kind of way !!!! ???,” she wrote.

Janet covers her relationship with her father, Joe Jackson, her famous brother, the late Michael Jackson, her marriages, and her spectacular career. Jackson candidly recounted her relationship with singer James DeBarge, who she revealed left her alone on their honeymoon to score drugs. The singer also revealed that she did not have a secret love child with DeBarge and spilled some family tea. The documentary is available to watch on-demand on Lifetime and stream on Hulu.
