Jamie Foxx Facing Backlash Over Anti-Semetic Social Media Post

The actor is under fire after being accused of making an anti-semetic comment

On Friday, actor Jamie Foxx faced controversy after sharing a message to his Instagram stories that many social media users deemed anti-Semitic.

In the post that has since been deleted, Foxx stated

, “They killed this dude name Jesus…what do you think they’ll do to you???! #fakefriends #fakelove.”

As a result of the cryptic message, multiple social media users assumed Foxx’s story was anti-Semitic, ascribing his use of “they” as a reference to Jewish people.

“I am a Jewish advocate who fights antisemitism. Jamie Foxx’s post was a horrifically antisemitic message rooted in classic blood libel and anti-Jewish conspiracy theory. He has 16.7 million followers. I’m not waiting on him to further expand,” one Twitter user posted. “Seeing someone like Jamie Foxx post antisemitic content is a sad reminder that Jews can’t just exist like most everyone else. There will always be people who hate us,” another Twitter user tweeted.

The actor was quick to delete the post once the backlash ensued and issued an apology to his Instagram account.

“I want to apologize to the Jewish community and everyone who was offended by my post. I now know my choice of words have caused offense, and I’m sorry. That was never my intent,” Foxx stated. He then offered fans further insight regarding the intention of his post. “To clarify, I was betrayed by a fake friend, and that’s what I meant with “they,” not anything more,” Foxx said. “I only have love in my heart for everyone. I love and support the Jewish community. My deepest apologies to anyone who was offended.”

It appears that when some people stay “woke,” they rarely ever rest, and that clearly shows with people who associated his story with being anti-Semitic. Seriously, it’s beneficial to slow down and not be so quick to respond. Given the actor just went through a health scare that he wanted to handle privately, yet the information was made publically, it’s possible he was dealing with betrayal from someone he considered close to him.

The “They Cloned Tyrone” actor further reiterated his apology in his Instagram stories stating, “…I have love in my heart for everyone, I support the Jewish community and all faiths…and I’m against all hate! Once again, my deepest apologies.”
