Jada Pinkett Smith Goes Bald And Beautiful

The actress revealed her big chop on July 12.

Actress Jada Pinkett Smith has a new look after cutting her hair to reveal her beautiful bald head. The actress posted a picture of herself on Instagram posing with her daughter, Willow Smith, who also shaved her head.

The actress suffers from hair loss, and Smith said that Willow encouraged her to shave her head.

“Willow made me do it because it was time to let go,” wrote Smith. “BUT … my 50’s are bout to be Divinely lit with this shed❣️?.”

Smith spoke about her hair loss on an episode of Red Table Talk

back in 2018. She noted how thick her hair used to be, to the point that people thought she wore a weave before it began falling out in the shower.

“I’ve been getting a lot questions about why I’ve been wearing this turban,” said Smith. “I’ve been having issues with hair loss….It was terrifying when it first started,” she said. “I was in the shower one day and then just handfuls of hair, just in my hands. And I was just like, ‘Oh my God, am I going bald?’ It was one of those times in my life when I was literally shaking with fear,” said Smith.

Smith said that her hair loss was the reason why she wore her hair short. The Matrix Reloaded actress also said that she had been tested for alopecia and other causes of hair loss, but doctors couldn’t diagnose why Smith was losing her hair.

“My hair has been a big part of me,” she continued. “Taking care of my hair has been a beautiful ritual, and having the choice to have hair or not. And then one day to be like, ‘Oh my God, I might not have that choice anymore.’”

Smith’s daughter Willow Smith, who has shaved her head before, also posted the picture on Instagram with a caption.

“<a gift is pure when it is given from the heart to the right person at the right time and at the right place, and when we expect nothing in return>??.”

The actress looks incredible with her new do and will soon be returning to the big screen in The Matrix 4. The film is scheduled to debut in December.
