Issa Rae Partners With Airbnb, Offers LA Home for $56/Day For Valentine’s Day

Issa Rae has partnered with Airbnb to provide fans with a romantic getaway at her South Los Angeles home for Valentine’s Day weekend.

According to the New York Post, the Insecure star created an itinerary for lucky guests to celebrate all things black for three consecutive days.

The cultural experience is available for booking on Feb. 8 at 1 p.m. EST for one stay at $56 a night from Saturday, Feb. 12, to Valentine’s Day on Monday, Feb. 14.

The “proud South LA native” revealed that she wanted fans to experience LA’s black culture.

“I’m inviting guests to spend a weekend in my hometown to experience the culture, businesses and communities that influence my storytelling on screen,” Rae said in the Airbnb listing. “I can’t wait to show guests all the things that make black LA so special firsthand.”

She continued, “The streets, sights and sounds of my hometown have long been a main character in my creative work. You may have heard that I’m rooting for everybody black — and this mission is inspired by my LA community. During this epic weekend, I hope you come to appreciate my community’s rich history and its many contributions to LA.”

The Hollywood actress said guests could virtually chat with her during their stay.

The itinerary includes:

  • A catered Super Bowl 2022 “Game Day” taco dinner for two
  • Panoramic views of Los Angeles and the Hollywood Hills from the outdoor lounge
  • Use of Sienna Naturals hair care products (“that you can take home!”) for a “little Self Care Sunday, any day.”
  • Relaxing by the pool during “LA Winter.”

While overlooking the bright LA scenery, Rae’s View Park home is filled with artwork from local Black artists, including Maya Iman, Vakseen, and Domonique Brown.

“Los Angeles has so many unique neighborhoods, but I have a soft spot for South LA,” Rae said of the area.

“It’s exciting to see the neighborhood get the attention it deserves as everyone prepares for football’s favorite Sunday,” she continued in the listing. “From Leimert Park or View Park to Inglewood and Baldwin Hills, you’ll quickly learn why South LA is home to some of the city’s best, if lesser-known, food, art, creativity and culture.”
