Issa Rae Offers Classy Clapback After Twitter Troll Refers To Her As “Not An Attractive Woman”

It’s hard being a celebrity — outside of the money, of course. And Issa Rae got a reminder this past week that social media will always have something to say about public figures when a Black Twitter user dragged her appearance out of the blue, calling her unattractive. Rae began trending on Twitter Friday after she gracefully clapped back at the online troll.

“Issa Rae is not an attractive woman to me and that is okay. Every black person aint attractive,” the user tweeted

Friday afternoon. “Also, she will never know who I am, and even if she did, it doesn’t matter because I don’t want to f**k her or be hired by her.”

Little did she know, word would get back to Rae and hundreds of other social media users who thought the two ladies had a lot more in common than not.

Claiming that she shared similar features to the Black woman she was dragging online, many of Rae’s fans hopped into her comments to let her know the real.

“Lmfao, miss girl???? The call sound like it’s coming from inside the house…..y’all look related,” one person

wrote in response.

Another person, acknowledging the undeniable beauty of Rae, also tweeted back, “Girl, you must be blind, she been fine!”

Never passing up a moment to share her comedic gold online, Rae took the distasteful comment in stride, joking on Twitter about their resemblance.

“Okay, but we look the same? The f**k,” the Insecure actress wrote, adding in another tweet, “Not my cousins publicly disrespecting me.”

The Twitter troll then hopped into Rae’s replies to promote her Youtube channel, writing, “Hey guys, subscribe to my youtube channel so we can talk about how me [and] Issa look so much alike.”

Messy, messy. 

Rae’s name was trending on the Twitter platform following the public exchange, and the user claiming she’s “not an attractive woman” has changed her Twitter name to “Issa Rae Fat Twin.”
