Internet Shook Over Drake’s Pretty Pink Gel Manicure

Let's not judge, because remember the '70s when men wore crop tops?

Degrassi alum Drake embraced a fresh look for the Chicago legs of his 2023 “It’s All A Blur” tour with 21 Savage, catching many fans by surprise.

On Monday, the chi-town nail shop Tokyo Nails posted an Instagram photo of a nail technician clutching the Canadian rapper, who sported a freshly braided hairstyle. But the image of Drake’s pink gel manicure caused the internet to go into frenzy mode.

The design comprised a light pink base with a rich pink center, almost like a blur, which could’ve coincided with his tour theme.

The Shade Room posted the side-by-side photos, and commenters immediately blasted the rapper for his recent very pink and unusual sense of panache.

“The fact y’all tryna normalize this is WILD to me.”

“Now, wee gon’ have to fight men over the gels and glitter.”

“Started as a bottom, now he her.”

“Just say you really want a man. We’d respect you more! This is an immediate NO. Sadly, I’m not surprised. This is what they use to influence our youth [and] it’s disgusting.”

“Never thought in my lifetime would I see more men wearing polish and purses [than] females and more women wanted to be truck drivers than men…upper echelon level of role reversal…it’s an agenda being pushed on our babies. So, y’all betta wake tf up.”

“Y’all are so d**n homophobic for what!? These comments scream insecure and toxic masculinity. ‘Men can’t let women have nothing.’ Huh!?!? Shut up. Getting your nails done is not just for women, and it doesn’t make you any less of a man, next caller.”

“I still have yet to get an understanding of why men are painting their nails. Can someone enlighten me? Is this a way of showing you don’t care what people think or what? Cuz I’m confused.”
