Ice-T Defends Mike Tyson Following Altercation With Passenger On Flight

The incident was captured on video during a Jet Blue flight on Wednesday.

Ice-T sided with Mike Tyson after a video captured

the heavyweight champion punching a drunken passenger in the face during a JetBlue flight from San Francisco to Florida on Wednesday evening.

On Thursday, the 64-year-old took to Twitter and shared his thoughts regarding the viral incident that prompted Tyson to take action.

“Mike Tyson punched somebody who was Fn with him,” Ice-T tweeted. “The problem is nowadays, MFs think they WON’T get punched in the face.”

One user mentioned the rapper-actor in a tweet while sharing a quote the 55-year-old allegedly said about the altercation.

“Social media made y’all way too comfortable with disrespecting people and not getting punched in the face for it,” the tweet read.

“He even warned people,” the Twitter user added.

The Newark native responded to the tweet, saying, “Yep….. But that’s the Fn TRUTH! Clowna** forgot he was NOT behind his keyboard,” Ice-T added. “If Dumbf**ks said the type of S**t they say to me on HERE Face to Face….. I know I’d be in prison.”

The viral footage, obtained by TMZ, captured the inebriated passenger’s constant chattering that started to annoy Tyson during the flight, Sis2Sis reported

.

One witness told the outlet that the former boxer was friendly toward fellow JetBlue passengers. He took selfies with several fans and even chatted with a few. However, things quickly changed after the unruly passenger, identified as Melvin Townsend, kept talking after Tyson told the man to “chill.”

Moments later, Tyson stood up, turned around, and punched Townsend. One passenger filmed the incident on his cell phone, showing the man’s bloody face as he seemingly remained quiet in his seat.

“My boy just got beat up by Mike Tyson,” the guy filming the ordeal said from behind the camera. “Yeah, he got f–ked up.”

After the incident, Tyson was reportedly removed from the aircraft.

According to the outlet, Townsend has lawyered up, and his attorney said his client’s actions were nothing more than an “overly excited fan.”

However, Tyson’s team said the man allegedly threw a bottle at him.

As of now, no charges have been filed against Tyson.
