GloRilla Says Being The Smartest In ‘Da Room Is NOT A Flex,’ And She Has A Good Point According To Forbes

People on Twitter were quick to dismiss her comment, probably because of the way she said it.

GloRilla shared her thoughts on how people perceive her intelligence on Twitter, stating that being the most intelligent person in the room is not necessarily an indicator of the skill one should possess.

“Being da smartest person in da room is NOT a flex” the 23-year-old tweeted.

Some users believed the Memphis rapper’s statement at face value. Others chose to ridicule the country musician for her delivery and the message she conveyed. They suggested that she openly admitted to being unintelligent instead of being remotely competent.

GloRilla, whose real name is Gloria Hallelujah Woods, graduated from Martin Luther King College Prep. While the school may not have a strong record of academic achievements, it does boast a high graduation rate.

GloRilla responded with a sharp rebuttal in a follow-up tweet, following criticism from detractors.

Although some may view GloRilla’s tweet as simplistic, there is a profound truth in her words that reflects wisdom.

As Forbes reported, the full quote is the following: “If you’re the smartest person in the room, you are in the wrong room.”

In summary, some emphasize the importance of surrounding oneself with individuals who are more intelligent than oneself and/or who seek intellectual challenge in order to improve.

In the contributor article, the author, YEC Councli Post, explains why being the smartest is not always beneficial for personal growth. They argue that staying in one’s comfort zone can hinder development and suggest that surrounding oneself with people who have diverse interests, hobbies, and intellectual abilities can open up new opportunities and experiences. The author also shares that their five closest clients share similar values, emphasizing the importance of diverse perspectives.
