FreakNik Is Returning For 2021- Here’s The Lineup

Headliners include Adina Howard, Lil Scrappy, Project Pat and more!

FreakNik is set to return in fall 2021 as a three-day event celebrating Atlanta with a lineup for the culture.

This year’s 2021 Freaknik will take place at Morris Brown College from October 8-10. Headliners include Adina Howard, Project Pat, Lil Scrappy, Ray J, Pastor Troy, JT Money, Paul Wall, 95 South, DJ Unk, Field Mob and 8Ball & MJB.

Last year, the lineup of acts included Project Pat, Uncle Luke, Da Brat, Foxy Brown.

In the past, organizers have experienced issues since the event returned in 2019, with unsanctioned parties marketing themselves as FreakNik. The FreakNik festival is now trademarked to assure its standing as the only official celebration.

Originally launched in 1983, Historically Black College and University students traveled in large numbers to partake in Freaknik. At its peak, it attracted a quarter of a million attendees.

It wasn’t abnormal to see vulgar acts taking place in the streets of Atlanta in broad daylight. In 1999, due to violations and complaints, the last official festival was held in Atlanta. Two years ago, it returned as a family-friendly all-day festival and concert.

The history of the wildly popular unofficial “Black Spring Break” that was known for debauchery and chaos lives on in the pictures and videos found with just a quick google search.

Tickets will be available on June 21 at 9 a.m. EST on freaknikfest.com. Prices are TBA, but event organizers After9Partners plan to reduce the price from previous FreakNik’s to make it “more affordable.” This year, they will also provide a live streaming option via omnisplayer.com

Be sure to stay tuned for additional updates, including ticket pricing and additional headliners on their official website. We’re excited to see the celebration of this historic Atlanta festival back in action!
