Former ‘Empire’ Co-Stars Grace Byers And Trai Byers Expecting Their First Child Together

Grace officially announced her pregnancy via Instagram.

Former Empire co-stars Grace Byers and Trai Byers are reportedly expecting their first child together.

Grace shared the exciting news via her Instagram page on Oct. 14. She had done so after a red carpet appearance with Trai on the opening night of his new Broadway show The Piano Lesson.

“Happy Opening Night on your Broadway Debut, my beloved King!! [heart, crown, masks, heart eyes, and star emojis],” she wrote in the post’s caption. In it, she’s seen all smiles while holding her baby bump–her and Trai’s first child as a couple. “Words absolutely fail when it comes to describing how deeply and overwhelmingly proud we are of you, @traibyers. What a night! [stars emoji].”

The former Empire co-stars have been married for six years, as they tied the knot in Grace’s home country, the Cayman Islands, in 2016. The now-couple initially met on the show’s set a year prior, in 2015. In April, they celebrated their latest wedding anniversary.

“I’m not sure I’ll ever be able to capture into words the multi-layered love I’ve experienced with Trai,” the actress wrote in an emotional IG post. “Or the kind of impression and impact that he has made on my life. Or the way we have learned how to hold each other’s hearts through hard times. Or the hours we have shown up for one another, committed to [learning] how to navigate conflict with love and respect. Or the way he has continued to redefine what it means to be partners; in every sense of the word. Or even how, in both the brightest and darkest of times, I turn to see his arms wide open, waiting to envelop me – a reminder that he’s there to go through it with me – every step of the way. What I know is, he will forever be the One that I will always love the most. Happy 6th Anniversary, my King. May we swim together synchronized until infinity. [white heart and infinity symbol emojis]. @traibyers.”
