For The Barbs: Nicki Minaj Launches Record Label

She announced her first signed artists.

Nicki Minaj, one of the biggest names in hip-hop and pop music, is launching her own record label.

This exciting announcement was made on her Queen Radio show for Amazon Music’s AMP and has already created a buzz among music fans and industry professionals.

Minaj has not announced the label’s name but plans to soon.

“I’m not gonna announce the name, but I have a record label now,” she said on the Queen radio show. “I’m not going to tell you guys the name of the label yet, right, but I’ll tell you guys that on the next show. We’ll do a next show pretty soon.”

According to FADER, in addition to the announcement of her new record label, Nicki Minaj also revealed some of the first artists who will be signed to the label. Among them are Nana Fofie, Tate Kobang, Rico Danna, and London Hill, with more names to be announced in the future.

She even shouted out her A&R saying, “And because I believe so strongly in loyalty and because I spent my whole life giving to others that turned around and shit on me, Paddy Dukes is the first A&R on my label.”

Minaj’s new label aims to empower and support up-and-coming talent, particularly those from underrepresented communities. As someone who has broken barriers and paved the way for other women in hip-hop, Minaj is passionate about using her platform to give others the same opportunities she has had.

Minaj said, “When I get behind an artist, y’all know how I do shit for people that’s not even signed to me. Imagine what Imma do for the ones that’s signed”.

“Don’t think my label is just rap, or Black, or anything.” she added. “We got some other genres of music.”

Overall, the announcement of these artists and the addition of Lauren to the team makes it clear that Minaj is poised to support a new generation of talented artists with her successful label.
