Flo Rida’s long-standing battle over child support payments for his young son with his ex has finally come to an expensive end. On Thursday, May 25, a New York Judge ordered Flo to commit to a series of monthly and annual payments that total nearly $500,000 for their disabled son.

According to Insider reports of the Family Court trial, the “Apple Bottom Jeans” rapper was ordered to pay the amount to his ex Alexis Adams for the kid that they share – Zohar Dillard. The judge, Shira Atzmon, dictated the payment separations to be $14,000 a month for child support, plus an additional $2,200 a month for health insurance and a $300,000 escrow account for any care that Zohar would need. The rest of the amount came from an order to pay Adams  $188,000 as soon as possible to go towards Zohar’s school expenses and other incurred costs.

Although neither Flo of Adams released an official statement following Judge Atzmon’s ruling, her attorney – Dror Bikel – told the outlet, “She’s grateful to the court and that it’s over.”

Zohar’s special needs reportedly explain the extensive payment amount. He’s diagnosed with autism and a brain condition called hydrocephalus. The National Institutes of Health define Hydrocephalus as “a neurological disorder caused by an abnormal buildup of cerebrospinal fluid in the ventricles (cavities) deep within the brain.”

Adams alleged that she had to resort to Medicaid because Flo didn’t help her with health insurance and medical bills after Zohar suffered from an accidental fall from a fifth-floor window of their New Jersey apartment. The boy, unfortunately, suffered from a foot fracture, a shattered pelvis, and internal bleeding from the fall.

Not only did Flo fail to assist in paying for his treatment, but the rapper allegedly hasn’t abided by a child support order issued in 2018 requiring him to pay $9,000 a month to Adams.
