Flavor Flav Loses His Cool With Spirit Airlines Employee After Missing His Flight To Detroit

Now, he may think twice about waiting until everyone boarded the plane before getting up.

Flavor Flav is not a fan of Spirit Airlines after missing his flight to Detroit on Thursday. The rapper was captured on video going off on a Spirit employee at Harry Reid International Airport in Los Vegas.

According to TMZ, Flav and another person missed the flight. Sources told the outlet that while they were boarding, Flav was on his laptop while talking on the phone. Sources close to Flav explained that it was common for the rapper to wait for everyone else to board to avoid holding up the boarding process because he has had people ask for pictures.

In the video, the “Get Off My Back” rapper went back and forth with the Spirit employee, using obscenities to express his frustration while on the phone.

Flav apologized to his witnesses for his behavior but clarified he wasn’t sorry for screaming on the agent.

“Spirit Airlines shut the door on me while I was in line to board. I was upset and said some harsh words to the gate agent,” he said. “I apologize to those who witnessed me acting out of character. I do not apologize to Spirit Airlines or the gate agent.”

On Twitter, he posted a similar apology, alleging that the flight was overbooked, which is pretty standard for airlines to sell more tickets than plane seats.

“I like to think I represent all the people who would get upset when airlines are in the wrong,” he wrote. “As I said to TMZ, I apologize to those who witnessed me acting out of character, but I do not apologize to Spirit or the gate agent for their shady tactics when they oversell flights.”

While Flav was said to be preoccupied with his devices during boarding, it wasn’t confirmed that the plane was overbooked.
