Fans Requesting Female Hip-Hop Duo Salt-N-Pepa Include Former Member DJ Spinderella In Hollywood Walk Of Fame Achievement

Sis2Sis reported that the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce announced this week that Salt-N-Pepa, the trailblazers of female rap, will be receiving their star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. And while fans of the group are ecstatic that they’re finally getting their flowers, many are pleading for the duo to call a truce with their former member DJ Spinderella.

The femcees shared their latest accomplishment on their Instagram page, posting photos of various publications covering their honor’s announcement. Fans took to the comments to congratulate them, stating that the recognition was long overdue.

“CONGRATULATIONS,” En Vogue wrote in the captions.

“They should have got that star years ago,” a user wrote.

“Congratulations!! About d**n time!!! Another 1st! female rap group to get a star…” Another user wrote.

Other users congratulated them and suggested that Spinderella should be included.

“Congratulations [well] deserve but I still feel is one person missing love you all,” a commenter wrote.

“Is [sic]Spinerella part of that?” Someone asked.

After The Female Rap Room posted about their star on the Walk of Fame, Twitter users couldn’t deny that the ’80s duo deserved the dedication but suggested that Spinderella be included since she was a significant part of the group.

Congratulations! Now even though they fell out with DJ Spinderella respectfully, she had a major part in the group too! Who was spinning the music in videos and on a few songs?? DJ SPIN,” a Twitter user tweeted. “If nothing else make it right and give her a thanks on Nov 4th.”

“Congratulations and long overdue, but make it right and include Spinderella,” another tweeter commented.

“Spinderella deserves too.”

Spinderella (Deidra Roper) joined the duo (Cheryl “Salt” James and Sandra “Pepa” Denton) as their DJ in the ’80s, and things took a turn in 2019 when Spinderella announced on her Instagram that Salt-N-Pepa “terminated” her via email.

A couple of months following Spinderella’s announcement, the DJ sued her former group for about $125,000 for unpaid royalties, multiple breaches of contract, intentional misrepresentation and fraud. The amount she requested came from the 1999 “Best of Salt N Pepa” album was released during their hiatus in the ’90s. She didn’t know until Pepa (Denton) called her about the $125,000 that would be paid to her, yet hasn’t.

The duo called Spinderella’s lawsuit a “smear campaign.” Both parties agreed to settle in mediation.

Missy Elliot took to Twitter to express her excitement to have her star next to her fencer “sisters.”

Salt-N-Pepa quote tweeted, thanking Missy Elliott for her friendship.
