Fans Favor Guest Host Jane Coaston On ‘The View’

The ABC contributor has made a good impression.

Fans of the ABC morning show The View are impressed with one of the guest hosts, ABC contributor Jane Coaston.

Coaston is a Libertarian and was a guest host on the show on Nov. 29 and Nov. 30. She also leads the New York Times podcast, The Argument.

Fans of the show were impressed with Coaston as she disagreed with Joy Behar over CNN’s Chris Cuomo using his position to help his brother, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, with his sexual assault case.

Behar said that Cuomo shouldn’t be admonished for helping his brother. Coaston disagreed and said that she thought Cuomo had

committed a massive ethical breach and had abused his power.

“If you work at a news agency, as I do, and we do, you understand that there’s basic things. Like if you found out that an intern did this, they’d be gone a second after these text messages came out,” Coaston said. “And I think that this is an abuse of power.”

“Jane got the Whoopi “come back” that means she has to come back!!!!,” wrote one fan.

One fan wrote that Coaston should be a permanent replacement for ex-co-host Meghan McCain. The former co-host was infamous for her on-air outbursts. She even called Behar a b***h during one episode and still had her job the next day.

Guests appreciated Coaston’s adult approach to voicing her opinion when in disagreement with her colleagues. Others wanted her to be McCain’s permanent replacement.

“She’s great and proof they don’t need a token rightwing sociopath like Nutmeg or Hasslebeck to keep the conversation lively,” wrote one fan.

“She was phenomenal! How knowledgeable and well Informed….others just kept watching with their mouths half open as she would smoothly take over the conversation and make it her own! Just wow.”

Producers of The View are reportedly in no hurry to find a permanent replacement.
