Eve & Trina To Face-Off In “1st Female Rap” Verzuz Battle

The live event will air on June 16.

Following the highly-anticipated R&B girl group battle between SWV and Xscape, Verzuz has announced that the next female face-off will be between famed rappers Eve and Trina. The first-ever female rap battle from the COVID-19 born event is set to air on June 16, and fans of the femcees can’t contain their excitement.

Both Trina and Eve rose to prominence in the early 2000s, releasing iconic hits still enjoyed by many today. Trina, a proud Miami native, took over the South with Trick Daddy often by her side, gracing the airwaves with “Nann,” “Da Baddest B***h” and “Pull Over.”

Born in Philadelphia, Eve is often nicknamed the “Ruff Ryder’s First Lady” due to the success she brought the record label. “Gangsta Lovin’” and “Let Me Blow Your Mind” both broke the top 3 spots on the Billboard charts following her debut, cementing her status as a legendary female hip-hop artist.

The two have often collaborated in the past, with both being featured on Ludacris’ “My Chick Bad (Remix),” Missy Elliot’s “I’m Better (Remix),” and Trina’s “Ladies 1st,” a song from her 2002 album

Diamond Princess.

Eve Vs. Trina gonna be interesting, but I’m rooting for the diamond princess. #VERZUZ,” one fan tweeted, showing that they’re repping Team Trina.

Mentioning Eve’s catalog, another fan tweeted in support of the “Tambourine” rapper, saying,Eve’s first album will wipe the floor with Trina’s whole career #teameve.”

Others were just excited to see their favorite female rappers perform their songs live for Verzuz.

“Chile, IDK who I’m cheering for with Eve vs. Trina, but I definitely think I need a pixie cut wig before I decide!!” one person

joked about the battle.
