Eddie Murphy Ordered To Pay $35,000 In Child Support To Melanie Brown For Child Angel

The ordered amount is a $10,000 increase in what Murphy was paying before

According to exclusive court documents obtained by the Daily Mail on October 7, veteran comedian and. actor Eddie Murphy agreed to pay his ex-partner Melanie Brown $35,000 in child support every month for the daughter they share.

The 15-year-old girl named Angel was confirmed to be Murphy’s daughter after he initially claimed that she wasn’t his. The Spice Girls member legal representatives confirmed through a paternity test that Angel was his child, and finally, Murphy came to an agreement about paying it two years after the start of the dispute.

The documents revealed that Murphy had previously been paying his ex $10,000 less than the new agreed-upon amount because the judge found him to be an “extraordinarily high earner.” The court agreement dictated that Brown would receive the payments retroactively as well, from this month until Angel’s 18 birthday. In addition to the monthly payments, Murphy is responsible for Brown’s attorney fees as well.

“The amount of child support set

forth herein below has been calculated based on the reasonable needs of the minor child.  Commencing October 1, 2021, as and for child support for the benefit of Angel, Respondent shall pay to Petitioner the sum of $35,000 per month. Child support shall be payable via wire transfer, and shall be due on the first calendar day of each month,” the documents read.

However, Brown would be responsible for add-on costs like “health insurance, health care, extracurricular activities, and educational expenses” for their daughter.

The court explained that the increase in payment was a result of Brown’s change in financial situation.

“Until recently, Melanie has been fortunate in her career to sustain a comfortable lifestyle for herself and Angel,” the document continued.

Murphy has nine other children with five other women besides Melanie and refused to have any contact with the woman and her child.
