Sunday night’s Verzuz between Earth, Wind and Fire (EWF) and The Isley Brothers was legendary. The four-hour music battle, hosted by Steve Harvey with D-Nice, was a culmination of living history, a giant family reunion and an ode to Black people.
EWF and The Isley Brothers combined have given Black people a century’s worth of iconic music.
The legendary groups took Black folks– old and young– down memory lane. And new schoolers even learned where many of rap’s finest samples originated.

Black people from all over tuned in to the Battle Du Jour, and of course, fans on social media had plenty to say about the music, the host and the experience.

All in all, this Verzuz was one for the history books.
