Drake Claps Back At Charlamagne Tha God For Speaking On Him, ‘You The Off-Brand Morris Chestnut’

Breakfast Club host Charlamagne tha God had much to say about Drake on a recent episode of The Brilliant Idiots Podcast. Drizzy clapped back on his Instagram Story.

Charlamagne co-hosts The Brilliant Idiots podcast with comedian and actor Andrew Schulz. In their Sept. 21 episode titled “Superficial Singles,” the podcasters compared Doja Cat’s album rollout to Drake’s, in which Schulz cut in praising the “Hotline Bling” rapper for his ability to keep people talking about his album.

Charlamagne countered his point by mentioning Drake’s “Slime You Out” track, featuring SZA.

The radio host claimed people began talking about the lyrics days after Drake dropped it on Friday.

“Drake put out a song last Friday, and nobody cared,” Charlamagne alleged. “It came out last Friday, and people just started talking about the lyrics yesterday. I saw people posting about how he said something about the whips and chains
you get whipped and chained like an African slave.”

The lyric he referred to was “Whipped and chained you like American Slaves.”

“I’m in the group chat, and I’m like, ‘Damn, Drake put out this record Friday, and people just get into the lyrics on a Monday?’ That’s not Drake-like. He’s going to be fine, regardless.”

Charlamagne said “we” were looking for a more aggressive and “harder” record. Others around the radio host disagreed, but Charlamagne maintained his argument, adding that Drake was still “dope.”

The 45-year-old’s comments didn’t sit right with the 36-year-old rapper, who took to his IG story to give the radio host a piece of his mind.

To back his argument of Charlamagne being “obsessed” with him, he posted a video collage from TikTok of Charlamagne talking about Drake, from calling him a sexual orientation to claiming he’s a “corny” guy.

The collage included a 2011 interview of post-Degrassi Drake calling Charlamagne a loser for tearing him apart on The Breakfast Club.

He then addressed Charlamagne using his first name, Lenard (McKelvey).

“Are you ok, Lenard?? You kinda weirding me out, G,” Drake wrote. “Like you really obsessed with me or something for years, like you look in the mirror and wish you saw my reflection type
whatever you gotta do to let it out, I’m sure your 435 loyal fans will stand by you. Ya f**king goof.”

He posted a side photo of Charlamagne in another slide, calling him the off-brand version of actor Morris Chestnut.
