Donald Glover Rocks MSCHF’s Insane Backwards Shoes

He wore the bold shoes to a Brooklyn Nets game.

Donald Glover is known for his eccentric style and his latest footwear choice is no exception.

MSCHF, the Brooklyn-based company behind the controversial “Satan Shoes” collab with Lil Nas X, has released the BWD shoe, a slip-on sneaker designed to look like you’re wearing it backward. And Glover was quick to show them off while watching the Brooklyn Nets vs. Orlando Magic game on April 7.

The BWD shoe is already causing a stir in the fashion world, with its white leather, orange suede, and black-speckled midsole. Despite not being officially released until April 11, the shoes are already selling on StockX for upwards of $682. But when they are officially released, they will retail for a more reasonable $135 on MSCHF’s website.

Glover paired the BWD shoes with a white t-shirt featuring a QR code, blue jeans, and a cap. The shoes, which appear to be on the wrong feet, are sure to turn heads with their unique design.

And Glover isn’t the only one who has been spotted wearing MSCHF’s unconventional footwear. The Big Red Boot, which MSCHF released last year, was worn by a long list of celebrities including Ciara, Lil Nas X, Iggy Azalea, Diplo, and Janelle Monaé.

MSCHF has made a name for itself by creating controversial and unconventional designs. According to the company’s website, they are “a counter-culture media/product brand, playing in a gray area that isn’t yet defined by traditional approaches.” The company’s mission is to “build the best consumer-facing products by creating memorable experiences that are worth sharing.”

In a world where everyone seems to be trying to fit in, MSCHF’s designs are a refreshing change of pace. They challenge us to think outside the box and to embrace our individuality. And with celebrities like Donald Glover already embracing the BWD shoe, it’s clear that MSCHF’s message is resonating with people.
