This is heartbreaking.

The tragic passing of legendary rapper DMX is still his family, including his five-year-old son Exodus Simmons.

In a gutwrenching Instagram story post on September 3, Desiree Lindstrom, DMX’s fiancee, shared with the world that their son misses his dad and wishes he could be with him and God in heaven.

“It’s so sad and heartbreaking as a mother when your son asks mommy when can we go and be with daddy and God in heaven…,” she wrote in an Instagram story. “He misses his daddy so much.”

The emotional message comes only two weeks after the little boy’s birthday. Lindstrom shared a photo of her wrapping her arms around her son in a warm embrace.

The photo was captioned, “Exodus Earl Simmons…you are the joy that came into our lives five years ago. God blessed us with you, and I am thankful that you are by my side. Your daddy loved you beyond the countless stars, and when he named you…he knew that you would be the next chapter to us…the Exodus. HAPPY BIRTHDAY my son…blessings, good health, love, and peace.”

As previously reported, Earl Simmons, also known as DMX, was hospitalized in April after suffering from a drug-induced heart attack and died a week later.

The rapper was on life support for some time in a “vegetative state” while unfortunately never made it out and shortly after passed away.

DMX was reported to have struggled for decades with drug addiction, and the artist has spoken openly about his battle with addiction several times in the past. DMZ shared that his drug use began during the early stages of his life when he was only 14-years-old and was given crack without his consent.
