DMX was rushed to the hospital last Friday after reportedly suffering a near-fatal heart attack. Medical staff attempted to revive the New York rapper three times, twice in a home, and once at the hospital he’s currently receiving care from, a source close to him told Entertainment Tonight.

Friday night, DMX was rushed to a hospital in White Plains, New York, after a heart attack, which allegedly is a result of a drug overdose. The actor-musician had collapsed in his home, according to TMZ, and was immediately admitted to the ICU.

DMX was reported as having little to no brain activity, with his former manager, claiming that he’s in a “vegetative state.” Though the medical staff has been working tirelessly, it appears that DMX’s condition isn’t showing any significant signs of improvement.

In an exclusive interview with PIX11News, DMX’s longtime lawyer, Murray Richman, mistakenly said that his client was breathing on his own and no longer on life support, but unfortunately, he had gotten the wrong information. Richman later confirmed that DMX was still, in fact, on life support.

On Monday, DMX’s children flew to the New York hospital to visit their father. TMZ also reported that due to COVID-19 restrictions, his kids are only allowed to visit his room one at a time for what “could be a final goodbye.”

They left around 10 p.m. on Tuesday, according to a source.

TMZ reported on Tuesday that DMX’s family will determine their next course of action. Doctors are slated to perform a series of tests to determine the 50-year-old’s brain function. He was reported without oxygen for almost a half-hour. Despite erroneous reports of the rapper getting better, his grave prognosis remains unchanged.
