Dave Chappelle Addresses Antisemitism And ‘Observably Stupid’ Herschel Walker During ‘SNL’ Appearance

He also touched on Kanye's latest string of rants.

Dave Chappelle addressed antisemitism and ‘observably stupid’ Republican nominee Herschel Walker during his recent SNL appearance.

During the Nov. 12 episode of SNL, Chappelle challenged award-winning rapper Kanye West’s controversial rants.

“I denounce antisemitism in all its forms, and I stand with my friends in the Jewish community,” Chappelle said as he opened his monologue. “And that, Kanye, is how you buy yourself some time.”

The comedian continued, explaining that he’s already prepared to “pull up immediately” for West when the rapper gets criticized for his opinions. However, following one of Ye’s bizarre rants, he decided that he’d rather “see what happens” first.

“You know what? Let me see what happens first,” Chappelle said on the matter. He added that the most concerning part of the entire situation was that the DONDA musician went straight to bed after sending out his explosive sentiments.

“I was up all night worried: What is he going to do to [Jewish people]?” the 49-year-old said. He also mentioned that he didn’t “think Kanye is crazy.”

“I don’t think Kanye is crazy at all. I think he’s possibly not well,” Chappelle insisted. “I know the Jewish [community has] been through terrible things all over the world, but you can’t blame that on Black Americans. You just can’t.”

The comedian called Black Georgia GOP Senate candidate Herschel Walker “observably stupid” during his monologue. Walker, a former NFL running back, is currently running against Democratic Raphael Warnock. He even called out former Republican President Donald Trump for being, what he called, an “honest liar” and credited that to his perceived popularity.

Chappelle concluded his monologue by commenting on the backlash surrounding his SNL appearance, saying he doesn’t like performing in front of large crowds.

“It shouldn’t be this scary to talk about anything. It makes my job incredibly difficult. I love you to death, and I thank you for your support,” he said.

Sis2Sis reported that the comedy sketch show came under fire after its Twitter team announced Chappelle as part of its then-upcoming lineup.
